PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the rotational speed of a spindle motor without influence of a burst error. SOLUTION: An average sample pit length calculation section 33 calculates the average sample pit length which is an average value among sample pit lengths within the range of an integration section. An average pit length calculation section 36 calculates an average pit length which is an average value among pit lengths within the range of the integration section. A linear velocity calculation section 37 calculates a linear velocity based on the calculated average sample pit length and the calculated average pit length.
