PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unauthorized leakage to the outside of a substance to be examined when handling the substance to be examined, such as DNAs collected from an organism. SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for storing the substance to be examined stores such as DNAs 11 is provided with a retention section 12 for retaining the substance to be examined; and a destruction section 14 for destroying the substance to be examined when it faces a danger in which it is going to be taken out to the outside without authorization or broken or information on the substance to be examined is to be snatched. When, the structure itself of the substance to be examined is destroyed by a destroying agent 13 of the destruction section when the substance to be examined is exposed to such a danger, thus preventing personal gene information from being leaked.
