PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing rain water adhered to a rope capable of accurately suppressing the entry of rain water into a machine room by removing the rain water with a simple and inexpensive structure before the rain water adhered to the rope enters into the machine room. SOLUTION: This device comprises the machine room 2 having a hoist, a main rope 1 for an outdoor elevator wound on the hoist and led downward from the machine room 2, and a pair of dewatering rollers 12 disposed on both sides of the main rope at the lower part of the machine room 2, having tread faces 12a formed of recessed parts of U-shape in cross section which are formed on the peripheral surface thereof and pressed against the main rope 1, and rotating according to the running of the main rope 1. The rain water adhered to the main rope 1 comes into contact with the dewatering rollers 12 and is dispersed off from the main rope 1 to the outer peripheral side thereof by the rotational centrifugal force of the dewatering rollers 12.
