Disclosed are a pharmaceutical composition for promoting the degradation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha (HIF-1alpha), which includes arrest-defective protein 1 (ARD1), a stimulator of ARD1 or a nucleic acid molecule to encode ARD1, a method of screening a compound stimulating ARDl expression, and a yeast two-hybrid system for screening a protein interacting HIF-1alpha. Also, the present invention discloses a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting the degradation of HIF-1alpha, which includes an inhibitor of ARD1, an antibody specific to ARD1 or an antisense to hybridize with a polynucleotide encoding ARD1, and a method of screening a compound inhibiting ARDl expression. |
