PURPOSE: A system for extending the capacity of a keyphone system is provided to overcome the limit of terminals' distance restrictions by dispersedly installing systems without distance limitations. CONSTITUTION: A system for extending the capacity of a keyphone system consists of a master system(200A) and a slave system(200B). Each of the systems(200A,200B) comprises a main board(202a,202b), a main processor board(204a,204b), and an FPGA module(206a,206b). The main boards(202a,202b) distribute system buses and shared resources. The main processor boards(204a,204b), in which main CPUs are installed respectively, control the functions of their respective systems. The FPGA modules(206a,206b) serialize and transmit signals. Also each FPGA module(206a,206b) parallelizes serialized and received signals and distributes them to each system. The FPGA modules(206a,206b) are connected each other through a serial cable(210).
