<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of an image forming apparatus, equipped with a sheet postprocessing device performing postprocessing such as processing for perforating and binding image-formed sheets and so on, by enabling the image forming apparatus to discharge output forms which need not be processed by itself without consuming any electric power. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus having an image read part 1 and an image formation part 2 is equipped with a plurality of discharge rollers 22 and 23 which discharge sheets where images are formed, a flapper 24 which selects one of the plurality of discharge rollers 22 and 23 to switch a discharge path for sheets, a sheet postprocessing device 100 which can be connected to at least one of the plurality of discharge rollers 22 and 23 to perform specified processing, and an electric power control means of controlling electric power to the sheet postprocessing device 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
