<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method wherein shredder dust generated when waste of articles combined by petrochemicals such as automobiles and electric appliances, and metal goods is crushed can completely and harmlessly be treated, the treatment cost is low since the dumpsite is not required, and the energy and a resource can be collected with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The shredder dust is thrown into a high temperature smelting reduction furnace wherein a melt discharge port is provided at a lower part thereof and a gas discharge port is provided at a side part thereof together with a solid fuel such as coke, lime and charcoal, and melted at a very high temperature of ≥1,000°C and ≤2,600°C. Metals and inorganic substances in the shredder dust are discharged from the melt discharge port as melt such as molten slug and molten metal. The petrochemicals in the shredder dust are gasified into a reduced gas having the residual oxygen within 0.5% in a reduction atmosphere, and collected from the gas discharge port. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
