<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a firmware program capable of suppressing reduction in the productivity when update processing of firmware is urgently required such as occurrence of trouble. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for updating the firmware to new firmware when the trouble caused by the firmware is detected, discriminates which of control modules such as a control module 423 of an image read section and a control module 424 of an image forming section the new firmware controls, stops operations of the parts controlled by the new firmware and continues the operations of the other parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
