<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating organic waste water and sludge which allows the recovery of useful substances from waste water containing organic materials, nitrogen and phosphorus and in which the recovery rate of the phosphorus is remarkably enhanced, and to provide an apparatus thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The treatment method comprises: a process of an anaerobic treatment; and a process of taking out phosphorus and nitrogen in the organic waste water and/or sludge in the form of magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP) to the outside. In the anaerobic treatment process, at least two tanks, namely a digestion tank and a MAP aging tank which is capable of adding and mixing a magnesium source and/or pH adjustment are disposed. The digestion liquid containing the MAP sedimented in the digestion tank is introduced from the digestion tank into the aging tank, MAP particles are allowed to grow in the aging tank and the liquid containing the fine MAP particles is returned to the digestion tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
