PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress vibrations produced in a disk in a small-sized and thin disk drive of smaller than 2.5 inch in disk size, which has such a structure that a sleeve is fit and fixed in a hole in the center of a base plate, a shaft is rotatably held in the sleeve, and a hub is fit and fixed on one end of the shaft. SOLUTION: The spindle motor constituting the disk drive is so constituted that the relation as 1.0≥h1/L1≥0.20 holds, if h1 is the length of the fit portion of the shaft and hub; and L1 is the distance between the center of bearing power production of a radial bearing on the farther side from the hub and the fit portion of the shaft and hub.
