PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for arc discharge which generates display signals capable of accurately monitoring an output current regardless of its magnitude. SOLUTION: The power supply includes a Hall current transformer 30 to generate a detection voltage showing the load current by detecting the load current flowing in the load by supplying the high-voltage for discharging to the load and a high-frequency controller 16 to which the detection voltage is supplied. The high-frequency controller is constituted by including a generation part 36 of switching control signals to turn on/off switching means IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transister) 8a, 8b of a high-frequency converter 12 responding to the detection voltage, a generation part 44 of the display signals for a first monitor which generates the display signals for the first monitor from the absolute value by converting the detection voltage to the absolute value when the output current is above a prescribed value, and a generation part 58 for a second monitor which generates the display signals for the second monitor from the comparison results by comparing the detection voltage with the pre-set reference potential when the output current is below the prescribed value.
