A power-saving control method and system for a data storage device or an electric equipment in which data is classified into groups according to required response time and access frequency, individual data storage devices (#1A to #4C) or electric equipment are allocated for each group, and the power-saving mode on higher level is set for the data storage device or the electric equipment using data of longer response time or long response time and low access frequency. Thus, it is possible to set various levels of the power-saving function for the data storage device or the electric equipment, and the energy can be further saved.
