A metallic belt for a stepless speed changer has a metallic ring aggregation (31) constructed from layered endless metallic rings, and a large number of metallic elements (32) with a crowned saddle face (44) formed at a ring slot (35) in which the metallic ring aggregation (31) fits. The belt is wound on a driving pulley and a driven pulley and transmits a driving force. A peak (p) of the crown is positioned nearer to an outer side in the width direction of the saddle face (44) than a center position (s) in the width direction of the saddle face. The outer ends in the width direction of the metallic ring aggregation (31) are made to be in contact with V faces (45) of the pulleys. The ratio of a curvature radius (Rs) of the crown of the saddle face (44) of the metallic elements (32) and a curvature radius (Rr) of a crown of the metallic ring aggregation (31) in a free state is set in accordance with a load applied to the metallic ring aggregation (31). As a result, an inner end in the width direction of the metallic ring aggregation is not in contact with a neck portion of the metallic elements, and therefore durability is prevented from decreasing.
