PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false bamboo excellent in weather resistance and having an appearance resembling the texture of natural bamboos. SOLUTION: The false bamboo is composed of a styrenic resin adjusted to give a Vicat softening point of 86°C or lower under ISO measuring conditions. The styrenic resin is a vinyl polymer comprising at least an aromatic vinyl monomer, which is illustrated by a copolymer obtained by polymerizing one or more aromatic vinyl monomers, a copolymer from copolymerization of an aromatic vinyl monomer and other copolymerizable monomer, a graft polymer obtained by graft polymerization of a vinyl compound containing at least an aromatic vinyl monomer with a rubbery polymer, and the like.
