PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic composition, especially the one for antiperspiration, having high antiperspiration activities and providing excellent lubrication at shaving. SOLUTION: The cosmetic composition contains surface-hydrophobized water-absorbing polymer particles and an antiperspiration component. In another aspect, the cosmetic composition contains water-absorbing polymer particles, at least one kind selected from a silicone having≤5,000 mm<SP>2</SP>/s viscosity (at 25°C) and hydrophobic particles, and the antiperspiration component regulated so that the content of the water-absorbing polymer particles is 3-95 pts. by mass based on 100 pts. by mass of antiperspiration component.
