Disclosed are ether alcohols of general formula R<1>-O-[EO-]n[PO-]mR<2>, in which R<1> represents C1-4 alkyl, R<2> represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, n represents an average of 1 to 100, m represents an average of 0 to n/2, and EO, PO represent structural entities that are derived from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and can be provided in any order if both structural entities are supplied. Said ether alcohols are used as solvents, solubilizers, or auxiliary dispersing agents for organic compounds that are insufficiently soluble or insoluble in lipophilic and hydrophilic media and as auxiliary dispersing agents or a continuous phase for (micro)pigment dispersions. |
