The invention relates to a vehicle chassis comprising a spring support for supporting a coil spring that is braced between two spring seats and a vibration damper, in which one section of the piston rod and/or the damper tube is situated inside the coil spring. At least one spring seat can be displaced axially by means of a drive unit, consisting of an electric ring motor containing a stator and a rotor and a gear mechanism consisting of a threaded spindle and a threaded screw. According to the invention, the threaded screw and in addition at least one part of the threaded spindle are positioned radially inside the coil spring and radially in the vicinity of the axial extension of the electric ring motor.
