SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REFERENCING AV DATA ACCUMULATED IN AV SERVER

A system for referencing AV data accumulated in an AV server by using a plurality of edition terminals. The system includes a recording device which can be accessed at a higher speed than recording means in the AV server and is connected to the edition terminals. Each of the edition terminals has first processing means for requesting transfer of the AV data from the AV server to the recording device and second processing means for referencing the AV data from the recording device. Thus, a plurality of edition terminals can simultaneously and concurrently reference the material accumulated in the AV server without being restricted by the number of I/O ports of the AV server and it is possible to reduce the wait time of the edition terminal for referencing the material accumulated in the AV server.
