PURPOSE: A connector for a card is provided to prevent erroneous insertion of a card without damaging the card. CONSTITUTION: A connector includes a housing(4) in which a card(1) is set, a plurality of terminals(5) that are arranged in parallel with the housing and come into contact with external contact parts formed at the card, and a metal cover(6) covering the housing. The connector further includes a stopper(8,9), a card contact part(10), and a deformation preventing part(11). The stopper is formed on the cover such that the stopper is protruded into a card insertion space and stops the movement of an erroneously inserted card to a predetermined set position. The card contact part is in contact with the front end of the erroneously inserted card. The deformation preventing unit prevents deformation of the card contact part due to the erroneously inserted card.
