<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle tail gate locking device for keeping a latch from the transmission of influence of additional rotation of a lock lever caused by adding a function of a glass latch or the like to solve the problem of the conventional connecting structure. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle tail gate locking device controls locking of a latch part of a tail gate and its release by rotating the lock lever at its rotational center through a rod connected to the lock lever. The rod is composed of a first rod with one end pivoted on the lock lever, and a second rod with one end pivoted on the other end of the first rod through a control latch and with the other end connected to a control part of the tail gate. The locking device is characterized in that the control latch above mentioned is provided with connecting structure which realizes such control as not to give variation in the position of the second rod when the rotation of the lock lever exceeds a prescribed angle range in the locked state of the tail gate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
