PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable printing of a high-quality image. SOLUTION: A printer, which is equipped with a plurality of types of inks including at least achromatic inks, is constituted in such a manner as to print the image by forming dots, using the inks, on a printing medium. In this case, the achromatic inks include the inks different in concentration, such as a pale gray ink which is the achromatic ink with the lowest concentration. When the dot is formed by using each of the inks, the image is printed in such a manner that the dot using the pale gray ink is formed in an area wherein no dots using various types of the inks except the pale gray ink are formed. This enables the sure avoidance of a situation wherein since an area, to which the ink is applied, and an area, to which the ink is not applied, occur on the printing medium, a difference in sense of gloss between the areas makes a viewer feel odd and makes the quality of the image worse.
