PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing the sealing part of a coke oven at low cost without requiring much labor and time for the repair even if a seat face is damaged and/or got uneven, and to provide a method for making an openable lid therefor. SOLUTION: The method for repairing the sealing part of the coke oven 11 served for making the inside thereof airtight using the openable lid 70 having a side plate member 75 with its tip in a knife-edged fashion and a slant face 77 on the outer side of the tip, the tip of the side plate member 75 is butted on the seat face 23 provided around an opening 22, comprises the following practice: a new openable lid 20 being substantially the same dimension as the lid 70 and having a side plate member 29 with its tip in a knife-edged fashion and a slant face 35 on the inner side of the tip is prepared, and then exchanged with the openable lid 70, and the tip of the side plate member 29 of the openable lid 20 is butted on a new face of the seat face 23.
