PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly start continuous recording. SOLUTION: When an ECC bank contains the head of a pack capable of becoming the start point of continuous recording, data indicating the same is set in ECCTB (H in the figure). When the head of the pack capable of becoming the start point of continuous recording is not contained, data indicating the same is set. That is, when the continuous recording is carried out, the recording device refers to the contents of the ECCTB to detect the startable point of the continuous recording closest to a continuous start point required by a user, and starts the continuous recording from the detected point.
