PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction coefficient of a sliding surface and to enhance sealing ability. SOLUTION: Dimples (3) inclined toward a rotary direction when viewed along a radial direction is provided on at least one sliding surface (2) of a pair of relatively rotating sliding surfaces (2, 2). The dimples (3) are formed into a plurality of ring-like dimple sections (3A, 3B, 3C, etc.) arranged on the sliding surface (2) along the individual annuli having different diameters.
