PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material with a good cushioning performance in which ribs are hardly broken and which is realized in a low cost. SOLUTION: The packaging material 40 mounted on a transported article 20 stored in a box and for decreasing impact to the transported article 20, is provided with a surrounding part 41 formed by surrounding the transported article 20 so as not to be brought into contact with the transported article 40, a plurality of inner ribs 44 projecting inward from the surrounding part 41 and abutting on the outer wall face of the transported article 20, and a plurality of outer ribs 46 projecting outward from the surrounding part 41 and abutting on the inner wall face of the box in which the transported article is stored.
