PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an overlap fitting portion from getting damaged with a protruding length of the fitting portion from a closing stage shortened and therefore strength and rigidity of the fitting portion reinforced, and to prevent an overlap from flexing inwardly into a folding container with strength and rigidity of the overlap reinforced between the overlap fitting portion of one of half lids and the closing stage of the other half lid. SOLUTION: The folding container consists of a body C having an upper frame 1, a base 2, trap sidewalls 3 and split sidewalls $ having an upper split sidewall 4' and a lower split sidewall 4"; and a pair of half lids 5' hinged to opposite frames of the upper frame. The folding container is structured such that the overlap fitting portion 50d of one of the half lids overlaps the closing stage 50c of the other half lid, and a peripheral wall of the overlap fitting portion is formed to be a semicircular or smaller arc.
