PURPOSE: A method for interworking between wireless LAN and a general mobile communication system network is provided to reduce a cost and time for development of a matching protocol and a matching node. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(100) is positioned in an area where it can be provided with W(Wireless) LAN service, a WLAN(200) transfers a message required by the mobile terminal(100) to a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node) of a UMTS(Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems) packet network(400) through an access router(202). If the mobile terminal(100) is positioned in an area where it cannot be provided with the WLAN service, a UTRAN(UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network)(300) transfers a service message requested by the mobile terminal(100) to a UMTS packet network(400) through an RNC(302). The UMTS packet network(400) performs the location registration function on the mobile terminal(100) and the packet call request, and sets a session between an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node) and the GGSN(402). The GGSN(402) allocates/releases an IP address to/from the mobile terminal(10). |
