摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling 1xN mechanical optical switch are provided to enhance the optical performance by correcting an error due to a back lash of a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling 1xN mechanical optical switch includes a data input unit, a data storage, an address, a controller, and a motor driver. The data input part(31) receives port information and a switching command from a user and converts the port information and the switching command to predetermined protocols. The data storage(32) stores the port information. The address(33) stores ID for identifying an optical switch in a controlling process. The controller(34) compares the position information of a destination port with the position information of a present port to separate a switching path into two parts and decides rotation speed and rotation direction of a stepping motor. The motor driver(35) drives a stepping motor a control operation of the controller.
