The annular piston engine consists of an annular displacement device with an inner shell shape having an outer contour in the form of a periodically varying working cavity in which fuel is burnt in a two-stroke process. The inner contour of the eccentric rotor forms the outer shell shape of a second variable volume in which pre-compression takes place.
