Event signaler or reminder device for use in treatment of a patient. The device comprises a housing (1), display (2), keyboard, speech synthesizer (7) and battery. An operator sets the unit time at first use or after a long period of inactivity. A table is provided for inputting of events, e.g. code 01 might correspond to take insulin. This code is then input together with the time at which it is to be taken. When the time arrives a visual and or audible warning is generated.
