The toilet bowl is fitted with a sliding surface to catch solid excrement, for it to slide downwards or sideways into the water of the siphon. The surface is covered with a water film, which flows downwards to assist the sliding movement, and prevent soiling. The toilet bowl is cleaned by a spray which delivers water under pressure, steam or air to remove any clinging matter, or an electric cleaner is activated, or the toilet bowl is cleaned manually with the assistance of a liquid spray.
