1. A head protecting airbag device comprises a rear pillar garnish (22) which covers an airbag (343) folded and housed from a rear pillar portion (PR) to a roof side rail portion (R) on the interior side of a vehicle and mounted on the body of said rear pillar portion (PR). The rear pillar garnish (22) is integrally molded to include a body portion (326) having a mounting seat cap (131) able of being mounted on said rear pillar portion (PR) body and a door portion (327) arranged on the upper end side and adapted to be pushed and opened by said airbag (343) being inflated to expand. The portions of said door portion (327) and said mounting seat (329, 327) of said body portion (326) in the vicinity of said door portion (327) are made of a thermoplastic elastomer, while the remaining portion other than the portions of said door portion (327) and said mounting seat (329, 327) of said body portion (326) in the vicinity of said door portion (327) is made of a hard synthetic resin.
