The alternator has a fan wheel (20) secured to at least one side of its rotor (13) and provided by a sheet metal disc with stamped out fan blades (21) projecting axially from the end of the rotor, attached to angled feet (24) extending from the inside to the outside in opposition to the rotation direction. The radially outer end sections (21a) of the fan blades are coupled together on the opposite side to the rotor via a cover ring (23).
