Method for operating a roll balancing actuator in a motor vehicle with a hydro-pneumatic spring system, whereby control and regulation of the transporting activity of the actuator is carried out dependent on the actual gas pressure (PSL, PSR) in at least one of the two hydro-pneumatic pressure stores as well as the relative cylinder or piston displacements (DELTAYAR, DELTAYAL) during a roll movement. The invention also relates to a corresponding control unit for implementation of the inventive method.
