The straight tubular end (6) of the lance (5) is connected to the water supply pipe (3). It is accommodated inside a housing (2) whose interior (10) contains an actuator (8). The actuator has a water inlet (11) and a water outlet (9) and may move the spray tip of the lance (4) from its stowed position (A) under the rim of the toilet bowl (1) to its operating position (B) near the middle of the toilet bowl. A counterweight (20) on the straight portion helps to return the lance to its stowed position.
