The local oscillator (LO) frequency (f1,f2) is transmitted by each receiver (2,3) via a transmission antenna (8,9) to each other receiver. Each receiver receives the local oscillator frequencies of all other receivers and coherently demodulates them using its own LO frequency to form difference frequency signals, which are transmitted to an evaluation station, together with the respective demodulated echo signals. The evaluation unit generates a phase error signal for composition of the phaser error in the interferometric signal used by the receivers. An Independent claim is included for an apparatus for carrying out the method.
