A filter device for compressed air is provided, wherein packings constituting filter means can be easily and quickly replaced without using a tool. A body of the filter device 16 is constituted such that first and second sleeves 26, 28, an inlet passage portion 22 defining an inlet passage 37, a guide passage portion 30 defining a guide passage 44 and the outlet passage portion 24 defining an outlet passage 39 are formed integrally with each other as a single unit, such that access openings 41, 41 are formed in the inlet passage portion 22 and the outlet passage 24 so as to remove the first and second packings 27, 19 through the access openings 41, 41, and such that caps 18, 18 are fluid-tightly and removably attached to the respective access openings 41, 41. The first and second sleeves 26, 28 accommodate first and second filter elements 88, 90 therein and constitute the first and second filter means 12, 14, respectively. Each of the first and second filter elements 88, 90 consists of a corresponding one of the first and second packings 27, 29, a core bar having a pull tab at one of the opposite end portions thereof and passing the center of the corresponding first or second packing 27, 29, and upper and lower retainer plates 57, 59 engaging the core bar at the respective opposite ends of the core bar and disposed at the respective opposite ends of the corresponding first or second packing 27, 29. <IMAGE> |
