Method and device to control a fire damper

The ventilation duct is closed in case of an emergency by the fire protection flap (1) in order to prevent an expanding of the fire through the duct. A magnetic element (2) used to keep the flap (1) open normally and de-activated by a smoke detector (3) is connected to the main circuit (5) and to a storage battery (4), which takes over in case of the circuit (5) being interrupted by a lightening stroke or other incident without a fire involved.
