The biochip for a capacitate stimulation and/or detection of biological tissue (14) in an electrolyte, has a carrier structure (10) to support at least one stimulation and/or sensor unit. The system has at least one dielectric layer (12), with one surface at the stimulation/sensor unit, and the other surface is for stimulation/detection of the biological tissue. The dielectric layer is based on TiO2/ZrO2 (Tix,Zr1-x)O2 with 0.99at leastxat least0.5 or a TiO2/ZrO2 layered structure. The biochip is fitted with a source contact (16) and a drain contact (17).
