Cylinder unit for working plastics consists of a cylinder with central bore, whose ratio of length to diameter is at least 15 and a worm located in the bore. The cylinder is surrounded by a pipe system, which is filled to between 20 and 85% with a liquid at room temperature so its pressure tight. The pipe system contains a pump for circulating the fluid and the heat given off is self regulating. |
