The mast (4) is mounted inside the bottom of the boat (1) via a fastener device (12) which can be moved sideways along a curved path. Wires (6, 9) between the front and rear ends of the boat extend over the mast tip (8) and around rolls (24, 25) down to weights (26, 27) in order to stabilise the mast. Another wire (20) is secured to a carriage mounting (21) on the lower part of the mast and extends between two horizontal rolls and around a further toll (23) to a weight for balancing the mast. The horizontal rolls ensure the additional wire is always in the same starting position irrespective of how far the mast has moved sideways to the left or right. |
