PURPOSE: A turbo lag control device of an intercooler engine for a turbocharger and a method thereof are provided to prevent lowering of performance against travel wind by regulating inflow of travel wind according to operation of the engine and travel condition, and to improve the quality by decreasing emission from shortage of air in starting and accelerating. CONSTITUTION: A turbo lag control device comprises an engine operation detecting unit(300) detecting operation of a turbocharger intercooler engine; an engine control unit(310) analyzing signals from the engine operation detecting unit, and outputting the travel wind path changing signal to prevent turbo lag of the turbocharger intercooler engine; and travel wind adjusting units(320,322) installed in front of the radiator and the intercooler in the front of the engine room and actuated according to the travel wind path changing signal from the engine control unit to regulate the path of travel wind flowing into the radiator, the intercooler and the air cleaner.
