APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING CELL COVERAGE USING INTERFERENCE MODEL

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for calculating a cell coverage using an interference model are provided to calculate a cell coverage close to actual situation. CONSTITUTION: A topography data processor(31) divides an area for calculating a coverage into certain-size pixels. A traffic calculation processor(32) calculates the amount of traffic of each pixel. A forward coverage calculation processor(34) calculates forward link capacity and a coverage by calculating path loss information according to the amount of traffic of each pixel and a pre-set base station allowable capacity. A backward coverage calculation processor(35) determines backward link capacity and a backward coverage by calculating interference of the same cell interference and an adjacent cell by using the path loss information between base stations.
