PURPOSE: A title editing method in a nonlinear motion picture editing system is provided to give a specific effect to a title file and easily edit the title file into a motion picture. CONSTITUTION: It is confirmed whether title time property changes in an input motion picture file and title file(100,110). It is checked whether the changed title time property is included in motion picture time reproduction time(112). When the changed title time property is included, the changed title time property is applied to the motion picture file(116). When the changed title time property is larger than the motion picture file reproduction time, the changed title time property is rejected(114). When the title time property does not change, it is checked whether the motion picture file reproduction time is changed(118). Title time information is controlled such that the title time property is included in the motion picture file reproduction time(120,122,124,126,128).
