PURPOSE: A vehicle projection area measurement system is provided to reduce a measurement time for the vehicle projection area and to measure an exact projection area by measuring the vehicle projection area along the outline of the vehicle projection area. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle projection area measurement system includes a turn table(22), a screen, a laser unit(24), a laser transport unit(25), a digital planimeter(32), a planimeter signal processing part, a CCD signal processing part, a planimeter transport unit(35), and a computer. A car is installed at an upper part of the turn table(22). The turn table(22) has the screen. Laser is incident onto the car by means of the laser unit(24) such that a shadow of the car is projected onto the screen. The laser transport unit(25) transports the laser unit(24). The planimeter signal processing part is connected to the digital planimeter(32) and processes signals from the digital planimeter(32). The CCD signal processing part determines the car transport direction and the outline of the car by using a CCD array.
