PURPOSE: A hydroxyl ion supply device and method of a diesel engine for reduction of emission is provided to accelerate oxidation of carbon particles and reduce emission. CONSTITUTION: A hydroxyl ion supply device of a diesel engine(20) for reduction of emission comprises a bombe(70) storing hydroxyl ions; a solenoid valve supplying the hydroxyl ions stored in the bombe to an exhaust pipe(40) of the upper stream of oxidation catalyst; and an electronic control unit(100) opening and shutting the solenoid valve according to the speed range, the boost pressure of a turbocharger, engine rpm(revolutions per minute), and a pedal angle. A hydroxyl ion supply pipe, connecting the bombe and the exhaust pipe, forms an angle of 90 ¯135 degrees from the exhaust pipe.
