PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a driving badness of the LCD from generating by securing a margin relating to a dry etching by changing a data line into a gate metal layer from a source/drain metal layer in a sealant pattern portion deposited a sealant among a data line portion. CONSTITUTION: A gate electrode and a gate line are formed on an array portion of a substrate(60) and simultaneously a data line(61) is formed on a sealant pattern portion(46). A gate insulation film(62) is formed on the substrate(60) formed the gate electrode, the gate line and the data line(61). A data line(61) formed at the sealant pattern portion(46) and a data line(63) formed at a data link portion(44) are electrically connected at their boundary surface. For this, a contact hole(64) is formed at the boundary surface and a gate metal and a source/drain metal are electrically connected through the hole. Passivation film layers(65,66) are formed at an upper portion of the data line(61) corresponding to the sealant pattern portion(46) and an upper portion of the data line(63). A pixel dummy pattern(67) is formed on the passivation film layers(65,66) of the upper portion of the data line(63) corresponding to the data link portion(44). |
