PURPOSE: A method for maintaining a task in a mobile communication equipment is provided to re-generate a task if an error count value is less than a predetermined threshold value, and to manage the task, thereby improving an automatic diagnostic function of a mobile communication equipment. CONSTITUTION: When a task is generated(S600), an OS(Operating System) generates TCB for the task and stores task information in a task managing portion(S602). A task manager periodically retrieves the task managing portion, and confirms whether a TCB is included in a task ID(S604). If the TCB is included in the task ID(S606), the task manager verifies a next field(S608). If the TCB is not included in the task ID, the task manager increases an error count(S610). The task manager decides whether the increased error count value is less than a threshold value(S612). If so, the OS re-generates the task(S614).
