<p>PURPOSE: A liquid crystal composition with very fast response, high luminance and low driving voltage is provided due to its high birefringence and dielectric anisotropy and phase transition temperature, by comprising an isothiocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION: The nematic liquid crystal composition comprises a nematic liquid crystal compound represented by formula 1, wherein R is CnH2n+1O, CnH2n+1 or CnH2n-1, in which n is an integer of 1-15; A is a cyclic -C6H10- or aromatic -C6H4-; L is an integer of 0-2; B is a single bond, -CH2CH2-, -COO-, -C=C- or -C≡C-; each of X and Y is independently or simultaneously H, F, Cl or Br. The liquid crystal display device using the nematic composition is TN(Twisted Nematic), STN(Super Twisted Nematic), TFT-TN(Thin Film Transistor-Twisted Nematic) or IPS(In Plane Switching) mode.</p> |
