PURPOSE: A method for determining a definite angle from an indefinite sensor signal on the basis of a model is provided to reduce an amount of calculation for total angles by installing a rotation angle sensor providing a periodic characteristic curve. CONSTITUTION: Rotation angles(LwVA,LwHA,LwGi) are calculated according to plural mathematics models. Segment probability relating to a model according to the calculated rotation angles(LwVA,LwHA,LwGi) based on the models is detected. A total probability relating to a predetermined segment is calculated by using each probability relating to each model. A segment having the highest probability is selected. The total probability for the predetermined segment is calculated by adding each segment probability. The total probability for the predetermined segment is calculated by adding each segment probability and by integrating probability added during a predetermined interval.
